Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops
The Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America is a gathering of all canonical Orthodox hierarchs representing the various jurisdictions of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church in America. Formed in response to directives from the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Assembly works to promote unity, cooperation, and pastoral care among all Orthodox faithful, regardless of jurisdictional affiliation. Its mission is to manifest and strengthen the visible unity of the Orthodox Church in America and to coordinate ministries that serve the spiritual and humanitarian needs of the faithful.
The Assembly also provides a forum for the bishops to discuss common pastoral challenges and to give a unified Orthodox witness to the broader American society. Through its agencies and committees, it addresses issues such as chaplaincy, canonical affairs, interfaith relations, and youth ministry. By the grace of God, the Assembly continues the sacred work of bringing the Orthodox jurisdictions in America into deeper communion and coordination under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
